Admission
Our lab accepts a small number of students each year. Admission is available in both the April and October semesters.
Students typically join through the 5-year doctoral program in the Informatics Course of SOKENDAI (The Graduate University for Advanced Studies), conducted in collaboration with the National Institute of Informatics (NII). Students who have completed, or expect to complete, a master's program may also join as third-year students in the 5-year doctoral program. Shuhei Kurita can serve as a sub-supervisor and advise research topics related to the lab.
Application Requirements for the Kurita Laboratory
Applicants to the 5-year doctoral program are required to be able to formulate a research plan during their enrollment that aligns with the research themes of our team. Applicants who wish to transfer into the program as third-year students are additionally required to have approximately one first-author publication at a major international conference or journal, or equivalent research ability, or to have conducted collaborative research with our team. In some cases, we may ask applicants to conduct a collaborative research project at our team for about six months before the entrance examination, which will be used as a reference in evaluating their application. How to Contact Us
If you are interested in joining the lab, please contact us by email with a brief description of your research interests and your CV. Any format is acceptable, but please include your academic background and professional experience. The application periods for the Informatics Program at SOKENDAI are typically around late June and early December each year. Please contact me at least two weeks before the application period begins. After that, there may not be enough time to complete the necessary procedures.
Financial Support
SOKENDAI and the National Institute of Informatics offer a number of RA programs and other forms of support, and students who wish to receive support can often do so.

当研究室では毎年数名の学生を受け入れています。春入学および秋入学が可能です。
総合研究大学院大学（総研大）の 情報学コース における5年一貫制博士課程（PhD）プログラムとして、 国立情報学研究所（NII） にて実施しています。修士課程修了予定の学生や修了済みの方は、5年制博士プログラムの3年生として当研究室に参加することも可能です（3年次編入学）。 栗田は副指導教員として、当研究室に関連する研究テーマを指導可能です。
栗田研での応募要件
5年一貫制博士課程に応募する場合は、栗田研の研究テーマと合致した在学中の研究計画を立てられることを応募要件とします。 5年制博士プログラムの3年生としての編入を希望される場合は、以上に加えて、主要国際会議・雑誌等にて主著1本程度の業績もしくはそれと同等程度の実力、もしくは栗田研と共同研究等をしていることを応募要件とします。 また、受験前に栗田研で半年程度の共同研究などをお願いすることで判断の参考とすることがあります。まずはご連絡ください。
連絡方法
当研究室に興味がある方は、研究上の興味の簡単な説明と履歴書を添えて、メールでご連絡ください。形式は問いませんが、学歴や職歴・研究歴などを明記してください。 総研大情報学コースの出願期間は例年6月下旬および12月上旬頃にあります。出願期間の2週間前までに連絡をください。それ以後は手続きが間に合わない可能性があります。

総研大・国立情報学研究所ではRA制度等を多数実施しており、希望する学生は多くの場合にサポートが受けられます。
